A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a website called Now Public after one of their reporters had seen my photos from the first of the two Bon Jovi concerts at Twickenham. Now Public is a site where anyone can submit, or add, news stories, and photos to existing stories, but they actually asked for permission to include 21 of my photos in a slideshow accompanying a story about the free concert that Bon Jovi were doing in New York's Central Park on 12th July. Of course, I said yes ... it may be unpaid, but it's another place for people to see my photos online, and they all link back to my Flickr account. The story is here, but you may have already seen the pics at Flickr.
Today, after I got home from work, I had an email from an online travel guide company, Schmap, letting me know that this photo has been shortlisted for inclusion in the latest edition of their Dublin travel guide, and asking for confirmation that I want to submit it. Again, I said yes, as my view is that (almost!) any exposure is a good thing.
While I have a *huge* amount to learn yet, I think my photography is getting better steadily, and these two occurrences have been flattering, if nothing else. It's nice to have validation that my photos are liked by other people!
